The machine will just refuse to copy in such circumstances.Otherwise:Insert a disc and a videotape with a record tab.1 In stop mode, press SETUP. Select General Setting, then press ENTEROK.2 Select Recording, then press ENTEROK.3 Select Dubbing Mode, then press ENTEROK.Option window will appear.4 Select VCR to DVD, then press ENTEROK.5 Press SETUP to exit.6 Press VCR.7 Press PLAY , and then press PAUSE where you want to start recording.8 Press DVD.Make sure to select a recording mode using REC MODE. The instructions above are the same as in the manual, but they just won't work for me. I'm trying to copy an old 'blank' tape with a family camcorder recording on it, with the record tab still intact. I'm using a DVD-RW disc. It will not allow me.
It just briefly displays a 'no entry' sign (red circle, with red diagonal stripe), then does nothing. I have also tried a VHS cassette adaptor with an actual camcorder tape in it, and same problem. Any help, please?
